So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak.

NAME; GARY YOUNG
AGE; 26
AGE STARTED BOXING; 7
TRAINER; PAUL WEIR
FIRST BOXING MEMORY; Walking up to the main door of the Sparta AAC, i could hear all the skipping ropes going and men shouting out commands. My Dad took me to the senior training night in the hope that it would scare me away from the sport but i was hooked right from the start.
Motivation; It was always to win world titles and be known as an exciting fighter but now i have the added incentive of making up for lost time, Injury forced me out of the ring for 2 years and i am determined to get back on track.
Favourite All time Fighter; I idolised Nigel Benn as a child, at the moment its fighters like Manny Pacqiuao, Ricky Hatton, Amir Khan and Floydd Mayweather but couldn't really pick an all time great.
Best Domestic Fight you've seen; Matthew Macklin V Jamie Moore
Best Fight Overseas; De La Hoya V Pacquiao
Toughest part of being a boxer; The Politics of the sport, the way people can close doors and hold your career back.
Toughest Opponent; Russian Victor Baranov - he was very tough and Ivor Bonavic - I knocked him down 4 times to finally K.O him in the 8th.
What would you change in Boxing; I'd make fight tickets £1 each so that more and more Fans could see more events live (laughs) Imagine making that business proposal to Bob Arum or Frank Warren.. Wow i think i'd be told where i could stick my idea (laughs)
Non Boxing Interests; I love to play poker, i play both live and online tournemants. Texas hold em, Stud and Pot limit Omaha.
Dream Job outside of Boxing; Err.. i have no idea i would love to work on the SKY Sports TV Panel and help present and commentate on future fights.
